Harrison's have this to say about the make up of the blanks:
The blank uses different carbon materials in each section to optimise performance:
Tip section
Made from unidirectional T800 carbon for light weight and high responsiveness.Middle section
Constructed with a high modulus core, carbon scrims and 1k external layerButt section
Finished with a 3K plain weave carbon layer, providing increased robustness and durability
Telescoping down to 50 inches the extended length is ten feet.
Having handled all three as blanks at the factory I thought the 3.5lb was a bit of a broom handle and the 3.25lb had more of a 'carpy' action. The 3lb model feeling most like it would be suitable as a useful predator rod. I'll have more to say about on the water performance when I've had a chance to use one.
The photo above shows what I'm proposing as my standard build, with options for five or seven rings plus tip. The seven ring pattern will allow a made up rod to be folded 'Rover Ringing' Style, but looks a bit odd when set up!
As these rods are likely to be left set up in cars and thrown about in boats or on the bank when roving I'm fitting American Tackle Delta rings which have a robust frame of an anti-frap design.
